Jack Hyphen was born out of the split of Herefordshire Indie/Rock Band Point Zero, who Jack was the front man of. After a musical hiatus, acoustic singles such as Not Aligned showcased the singer songwriter’s vocal and lyrical prowess, but Jack Hyphen was always destined for a much larger sound, thus transforming from Solo into a 4-piece alternative pop/rock outfit in mid 2019. Combining aspects of indie pop and alternative rock, Jack and his band delivered an atmospheric, punchy and occasionally ethereal sound on his debut EP – Stops / Changes (November 2019) After recording I Wanna Know (For Once) at Abbey Road Studios, just 2 months before the pandemic hit, Jack released this song amidst the first lockdown, along with a music video shot around Manchester / Salford. As for most, lockdown left the reality of surviving as full time performer, and funding the recording planned, look almost impossible. After taking time away from that aspect, Jack faced with a COVID related 2 weeks self isolation. Instead of fully lose his mind, he decided he would write, record and produce a EP. Which was a humbling / enjoyable experience. This EP birthed some fan favorites like Rarity.

Harnessing a blend of Alternative Rock, Indie Pop, melodic acoustic and everything in between to create his ever-developing sound. The feel and lyrics in his songs are earnest and often profound; speaking to universal truths. 2023 releases Flee, Lifetime and Happiness set the tone of Jack's comeback and recent release "Not Medicinal" shows Jack's eclectic/nostalgic indie rock side, while, as always, expressing something new.
